Friday's meeting

Hi everyone,
just a reminder that we are meeting on Friday the 21st at the New Berlin Public Library at 10 am in the Heritage Room.

The program is Spindle Round Robin, so bring your spindles and some wool to spin! We will each get a chance to spin on each others spindles and see the differences. Don't worry if you don't have a spindle, plenty of have lots so you can still participate! Programs are always optional so if you would prefer to work on a project and chat that is great too.

We will also be making wrist distaffs. You will need to bring along a small amount of a wool yarn that you like. At minimum you need about three yards, but the project includes a braided section, if you want to double or triple the strands in the braid for a thicker bracelet that works well as does four or five strand braids. You will also need glass beads, Charms, or buttons to use as weight and decoration.  I will bring some needles to thread the yarn through the beads but if you have needles that would work that would be nice to bring along.

I have been looking into Ring distaffs, if you want to try making that as well, a stick (between 7 and 10 inches) or chopstick, a long with some wire, along with beads and a large button will be needed.

We will have our usual yummy potluck so bring a dish to pass and tableware to eat with! See you then!
